The Nachtlab foundation offers young and talented organisations and businesses affordable space in the former residence of dance-giants ID&T. Organisations and businesses that give the Amsterdam nights colour, surprises and excitement. The Nachtlab building functions as a hub in this; a central location where a melting pot of different arts can meet and inspire each other, working together and learning from each other on a daily basis. A secure, helpful and inspirational environment where creative gems are given the chance to grow into the diamonds of the nightlife industry - without being distracted and rushed by the interests and demands from the big players and the scene itself - so they can focus on their core-business: to inspire and create. Synergy is the key word. Moreover, Nachtlab will play a leading role in uniting, facilitating, advising and supporting these creative minds.

Nachtlab focuses primarily on the cultural aspects of the night. Nachtlab is established for creative minds, not for creative industry. The tenants are united, based on their cultural value for the nightlife - this is how Nachtlab wants to put nightlife on the map as an independent cultural sector. The selection of tenants specifically focuses on this: next to artists and organisers there is also room for (web)designers, copywriters, stage-set builders, an audiovisual rental company and even an accounting office which is specialised in the creative industry.

Mission
Together with these young entrepreneurs Nachtlab wants to make the cultural offerings of the Amsterdam nightlife more varied, more fun and exciting and most of all more inspiring. The objective is to eventually make Amsterdam the night capital of Europe. A city where the night serves as an important source of inspiration, as a meeting point and outlet, for people from all walks of life, and where the night culture unites all who use the city.
