WOEK was founded in the beginning of 2009 by Wouter de Geringel, with the driving philosophy behind the company being the aim to solve all your digital media problems, ranging from logo's, sites, through to commercial video's. This diversity may seem too varied, however in our opinion diversity stimulates the creative process by allowing different areas to overlap and merge. This merging of different fields leads to evolution in both fields.

Wouter has a PhD in Biomedical Science. During the course of his study he discovered a passion for 3d and 2d computer graphics. Wouter is experienced in, and has knowledge of a number design software programs, including Adobe's Flash, Flex (Flashbuilder), Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Premiere and After Effects, Autodesk's Maya, Pixologic's Zbrush...
He also gained experience in the following languages HTML, CSS, AS3, JS & PHP.
After two years of working as an illustrator/animator/web-based-learning-tool-developer at Smelt Training & Development he felt it was time to start what is now known as WOEK Media.
